After Charles D.A. Ruffolo met (1976) his Dutch wife, Herma, the American soldier exchanged his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the Netherlands in the Dutch province of Drenthe/Overijssel. He served and retired after 20 years from the military and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy and served as a Battalion Sergeant Major. He earned his MPA/MBA degree in his free time in the military and fine-tuned his natural talent for linking (networking) common interests. Ruffolo is an International Speaker, Author, Publisher, Trainer and Philanthropist that presents over 100 times each year in different countries and is the most asked American speaker in Europe. Charles Ruffolo is the Founder of the Giving Back Foundation.

The mission
of The NetworKing BV is to empower business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate CEOs, governmental officials, students, emerging leaders and others to utilize their networking skills to develop and enhance their capabilities to increase their positions in the market and generate business.
Our goal
is to increase the individuals level of awareness to activity their networks by identifying & knowing who’s in their network then subsequently building, communicating, leading, motivating, enthusing and energizing that network to grow their business.
We started the Giving Back Foundation in 1999, which is committed toward bringing critical resources to the youth that need them. The GB Foundation helps high school students of who’s career perspective are not on the same level as their talent and ambition due to their backgrounds.
Giving Back offers and helps, mostly minority youth to successfully complete their high school education and enter post-secondary education, internships, apprenticeships, vocational training or enter the business world.
This is done through a mentoring and coaching programs that broadens their knowledge and experience. In addition, there is the possibility to do an Internship in the USA.
The Giving Back Foundation is successful, thanks to the efforts of approximately 400 very active and committed volunteers every year. They invest their free time, energy and attention, and thus give something back to society. All volunteers, board and committee members of Giving Back are unpaid, with the exception of the director, program managers, marketing communications manager and the back office. Giving Back is privately funded.
Starting with a new website concept and the rebirth of The NetworKing Academy, 2024 promises to be another exciting chapter in our history. We don't sit still, so keep moving and follow us on our new path.

Ruf created The Network Club in 2000. A business club which allows its members to effectively network during quarterly events and quickly tap into a network of over 30.000 worldwide business professionals. The Network Club formed the foundation for The NetworKing concept.
The NetworKing established the Giving Back Foundation which is a non-profit organization committed towards bringing critical resources to immigrant youth that are high achievers and motivated but need the encouragement from adult role models.
